At present, only common fowl chickens are kept. Below are some of the livestock options available if required.
Common or Jungle Fowl:
Kept and bred for their superior eggs and meat. Sought after locally, and preferred by many to the white fowl. Waste material is kept and dried, and used in and around the farm as fertiliser along with composted vegetable matter.
Excess can be sold locally.
White Fowl:
Sold to the domestic meat market, hotels and restaurants. Very fast growing. Raised from chicks to fully grown in around 6 weeks.
Guinea Fowl:
Similar to the common fowl. Bred, and also sold to the domestic market, hotels and restaurants.
Note: The original stone and concrete built chicken house (adjacent to the new chicken house and run) can be rebuilt in order to expand chicken production, or accommodate any combination of the species listed above. (Can also be observed to the rear of the house on Google™ maps.)
