The demand for tourist accommodation in Jamaica usually exceeds supply. This is especially true for those visitors seeking more rural accommodation. With Montego Bay within easy driving distance, many visitors that arrive for any of the major Reggae, Jazz & Blues festivals or golf tournaments would consider accommodation at the property to be both a viable and cost effective option.

The property can be easily adapted to cover various aspects of the tourist industry, and would be a suitable base point with many of the islands top attractions within easy driving distance. Guests may either hire their own vehicles from one of the many vehicle hire firms in the Montego Bay area, or alternatively, hire the services of a local taxi & driver or tour operator for day trips.

Guest Cabins / Eco Village:

An entire eco' village could be designed, constructed and sited on the ample land included in this property. As an alternative, log cabins (or similar) could be easily positioned and erected in order to accommodate guests, or made available to rent to the local sector.

 

Residential and/or Farm Plots For Sale or Rent:

Since there is a fair demand for housing and farm plots, part of the land could be made available to either rent or sell as individual lots.

 

Bar / Restaurant / Shop:

It would be possible to position and build a bar, shop, or restaurant on the roadside beside the house, with excellent views of the Montego Valley and Bay.

 

Guest and Visitor Activities, School / College / University Field Study Trips:

Flora and Fauna – Diverse range of tropical plants and flowers of both native and introduced species.
Paleontology (fossil study) - Many fossil remains. A reasonable collection of fossils have been collected whilst working around the property.
Ornithology (bird study) - Wide range of insect and seed eaters native to Jamaica and the West Indies, including humming birds, parrots and birds of prey.

Nature Walks and Rambles:

Some walks or trails are already in place, and more can be set up to lead to places of interest both in and around the property.

 

Rock Climbing & Pot Holing:

There are ideal places that can be used for rock climbing, and subterranean pot holes and fissures that have more than likely never been fully explored!

 

Mountain Biking:

Extreme mountain biking courses, along with easier or more moderate routes can be established throughout the property. They could be set up to test the nerves of the more proficient and experienced riders, as well as providing safer routes for the less experienced or junior riders.

 

Spring Water Plant:

The option is available to set up a mountain fresh, rock filtered, mineral water bottling or supply plant. This would be subject to a water quality test carried out by the local authority, though no problems would be anticipated since the spring is sourced from the highest point on the mountain, and there are no known possible sources of contamination that could affect it. A new water catchment may be constructed in order to pump fresh spring water directly to the house for commercial and/or domestic use. A 240vac water pump plus150 metres of flexible underground water pipe, plus all connectors and filters are available. The spring is situated approximately 100m from the house, and on roughly the same level.
